As the name implies, breast cancer is a disease caused by the growth of cancer cells in the breast area. This disease mostly affects women, but men can also be affected. Breast cancer is a type of cancer with the second highest number of people in the world. While the rate of death, type of cancer is the fifth largest cause of death in the world.

Early signs of breast cancer was the discovery of a lump in the breast that feels different. If pressed, the lump is not painful. Initially these bumps are small, but gradually enlarged and finally attached to the skin or cause changes in the breast skin or nipple.

Here among other things to keep in mind that a symptom of breast cancer:

  • A lump in your breast change shape / size
  • Breast skin changes color: from pink to brown to orange peel
  • Into the nipple (retraction)
  • One of the nipple suddenly loose / missing
  • When the tumor is large, the pain appears intermittent
  • Breast skin feels like fire
  • Breast bleeding or other fluid, but you do not breastfeed

Signs of breast cancer is the most obvious is the presence of ulcers (ulcers) in the breast. Over time, these ulcers will become increasingly large and deep so that it can destroy the entire breast. Other symptoms are frequent breast stink and bleed easily.

Worldwide breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women. In the developed world, it is responsible for 18 percent of all cases of cancers seen in women. One million new cases of breast cancer are registered worldwide every year and it is the single commonest cause of death among women in the 40- 50 years age group. In India breast cancer is the second commonest cancer seen in the women after carcinoma cervix. Its prevalence is higher in urban women and it accounts for 20% of all cancer related diseases. In Mumbai and Delhi, it is the commonest malignancy seen in women. In India it has an incidence of 17-40 cases per 1, 00,000 population and the 5 years survival is 42.3 percent to 46.8 percent.
